Congratulations Powell Basketball

The Boys' Basketball team, under the direction of Coach Ronaele Heard and assistant coach John Henderson, finished their 2013-14 season 5-1 with a semi-final playoff loss to the Newcomb Spartans. This will only be the second time in six seasons the Eagles have not participated in the Championship game. The Eagles have enjoyed much success under the leadership of Coach Heard and hope to continue to have the program develop further in the future.

Thank You

The Boys' Basketball team, Coach Heard, and Coach Henderson would like to thank all the parents, faculty, staff, Eagle Cheerleaders, and students who came out to the games to support us during the season. We would also like to send out a special thanks to Mrs. Richardson for her musical tributes and rap songs. Finally, we would like to thank Mrs. Claflin for her continued support and encouragement.

Lady Eagle Basketball

Tryouts for 2013-14 Lady Eagles concluded last week. Practice begins Monday December 15th. Coach Henderson says the girls will have to work hard to repeat last season's championship appearance. This year's games will be played on Thursday nights at 5:15. The Lady Eagles will face Robinson Dolphins in their home opener on January 22, 2014.

Attention All Parents: Every athlete must have a current copy of their physical on file with the nurse before they can practice or play any middle school sport.
A great opportunity is coming up. Students will be able to take their physicals at Millikan High School. If you are unable to schedule an appointment with your physician before the beginning of the next sport here is an affordable alternative. These physicals will be valid for the upcoming Girls' Basketball, Boys' track, and Boys' and Girls' Soccer seasons.
